Two-way radios shall be issued to personnel operating where other communication devices (phones and intercoms) are not available, practical, or will not meet critical institutional communications needs. In the field setting, two-way radios shall be issued to departmental peace officers and will be used as necessary to communicate with departmental personnel and other law enforcement agencies as needed to meet parole supervision and other field operational needs.
