{"id":9401,"date":"2020-03-31T16:06:34","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T23:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdcr.test\/dom\/chapter-5-adult-custody-and-security-operations\/article-1-peace-officer-authority\/51010-4-emergency-assistance\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T23:21:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T23:21:14","slug":"51010-4-emergency-assistance","status":"publish","type":"dom","link":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/operations-manual\/dom\/chapter-5-adult-custody-and-security-operations\/article-1-peace-officer-authority\/51010-4-emergency-assistance\/","title":{"rendered":"51010.4 Emergency Assistance"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>When a government agency (city, county, state, federal) makes an emergency mutual aid request that meets the criteria contained in the State Mutual Aid Plan or the Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Plan, response protocol provided in these plans shall be followed and the requesting agency shall make the request through the California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Once a CDCR office or institution is aware of a mutual aid request received from another government agency, they shall contact the OCS duty officer for tracking.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If contacted directly by another government agency for mutual aid but the request has not yet been vetted through the CalOES Law Enforcement Branch first, the requested CDCR office or institution shall inform the OCS duty officer and redirect the requesting agency to CalOES.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\n\t<\/ul>\n\t\n\t<\/li>\n\t\n\n\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>GC Section 8597 authorizes that when the appropriate state official proclaims a state of emergency or when a state of war emergency exists, PC Section 830.5 peace officers have full powers and authority as outlined in PC Section 830.1.
