{"id":9588,"date":"2020-03-31T16:06:40","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T23:06:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cdcr.test\/dom\/chapter-5-adult-custody-and-security-operations\/article-9-display-of-the-united-states-and-state-flags\/51090-15-displaying-the-state-flag-at-half-staff\/"},"modified":"2020-03-31T16:06:40","modified_gmt":"2020-03-31T23:06:40","slug":"51090-15-displaying-the-state-flag-at-half-staff","status":"publish","type":"dom","link":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/operations-manual\/dom\/chapter-5-adult-custody-and-security-operations\/article-9-display-of-the-united-states-and-state-flags\/51090-15-displaying-the-state-flag-at-half-staff\/","title":{"rendered":"51090.15 Displaying the State Flag at Half&#8209;Staff"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The State flag is only flown at half-staff for the following reasons:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"cdcr-dom-group-block\">\n\t\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>As a symbol of honor or respect over the passing away of someone.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>As a distress signal.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<li class=\"cdcr-dom-item-block\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Governor&#8217;s Executive Order R29-71 stipulates that the flag at the State Capitol shall be lowered to half-staff for peace officers killed in the line of duty.
