{"id":23835,"date":"2025-10-27T18:07:35","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T01:07:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/parole\/?page_id=23835"},"modified":"2025-10-27T18:07:36","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T01:07:36","slug":"halloween-safety-campaign","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cdcr.ca.gov\/parole\/halloween-safety-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"Halloween Safety Campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation&#8217;s Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) is keeping our communities safer with statewide compliance checks on Halloween night. &#8220;Operation Boo,&#8221; in partnership with other law enforcement agencies, has been conducted since 1994 as a way to promote public safety as families and children trick-or-treat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These compliance checks focus on sex offenders under parole supervision who are not authorized to have contact with minors. Every year since, hundreds of parole agents across California participate in Operation Boo to ensure compliance and public safety and hold those who are found out of compliance accountable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:31px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column has-black-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parole Conditions for Sex Offenders on Halloween<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remain indoors on October 31st from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM on November 1st. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All exterior lights remain off on their homes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No offering of Halloween candy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No Halloween decorations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During curfew, sex offenders may only open their door to respond to law enforcement, adult family members, or emergency needs. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DAPO works year-round to connect supervised persons with reentry resources such as transitional housing, employment assistance, food, and more by working with community partners in your neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meet the Division of
