Physical Fitness (PFT) Testing

How can I prepare for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT)?

Candidates are encouraged to engage in a physical fitness program designed to improve cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength.

Candidates who work out regularly and are in good to excellent condition generally do very well on the PFT. Candidates who do not work out regularly may require six to twelve weeks, or more, of regular cardio and weight training prior to taking the PFT. Consult a medical professional prior to beginning any exercise program.
