Testing Process

What is the difference between withdrawing from the process and being eliminated?

Withdrawing from the selection process is by candidate choice and is requested by submitting a Request to Withdraw form to CustomerService.OPOS@cdcr.ca.gov. If a candidate becomes interested in applying for the same Correctional Peace Officer classification at a later date, a new application must be submitted. Candidates who submit a ‘Request to Withdraw’ are not required to wait to reapply.

Elimination during the testing process may occur for any number of reasons varying from missing a testing date to a disqualification after a failed examination. Elimination is not by candidate choice. If eliminated, candidates must wait 6 or 12 months, depending on the component eliminated from, before they are eligible to reapply for the same Correctional Peace Officer classification.
