Must be 20/20 in each eye or corrected to 20/20 in each eye. 
If you are 20/60 uncorrected in each eye or better you are 
permitted to use glasses, soft contact lens, or hard/semi rigid contact lens to correct your vision to 20/20 in each eye. If 
your vision is worse than 20/60 in either eye the only 
correctable accommodation is with the use of soft contact 
lens.
Color Vision You must be able to pass a color vision test administered by CDCR without the use of an X-Chrome lens or other colored filters.
Soft Contact Lens 
Hard/Semi Rigid Contact Lens
You must have been wearing soft or hard/semi rigid contact
lens for a minimum of 120 days at time of application and must have worn them 12 months at time of appointment. Do not apply until you have worn them at least 120 days. If you do not meet the uncorrected requirement, the only correctable accommodation is with the use of soft contact lens.
Refractive Eye Surgery If it has been less than 6 months from the date of your refractive eye surgery, do not apply as you will be disqualified.
Expenses Any expenses you incur in meeting the vision requirements are at your own expense.
Disqualification If you do not pass the color vision test or do not meet the 
minimum visual acuity requirements, you will be disqualified. You will not be able to reapply for 6 months from the date of disqualification.
