REQUEST FOR RECORD OF HEARINGS
Lifer Parole Consideration Hearing Transcripts

Pursuant to Penal Code 3042(b), the Board of Parole Hearings (BPH) is required to record and transcribe parole suitability or the setting of a parole date for any prisoner sentenced to a life sentence.

In our ongoing efforts to provide efficient customer service to the public the BPH will provide free electronic transcripts upon request.

However, if the requesting party is seeking a printed copy to be mailed, a charge of 12 cents per page, plus postage will be incurred. The BPH will notify the requesting party of the total number of pages and the cost of postage. Upon receipt of a check or cashier’s check, made payable to the State of California, the request will be processed.

If the transcript is on microfilm or microfiche (2001 and earlier), a charge of 12 cents per page will be assessed. If the transcript is sent electronically, a charge will be incurred but no postage. If the microfilm or microfiche transcript is printed and mailed, a charge of 12 cents per page plus postage will be charged. The BPH will notify the requesting party of the total number of pages and the cost of postage (if needed). Upon receipt of a check or cashier’s check, made payable to the State of California, the request will be processed.

Ten (10) transcripts per month will be processed per individual, group, organization, etc. If additional transcripts are requested, a request pursuant to the “Public Records Act” must be submitted.
