The following information is provided as a general guide regarding visitation of inmates at California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) institutions. Specific visiting conditions can change at any time at individual institutions. Because these varying conditions may impact the availability of the inmate you wish to visit, refer to the Adult Facility and Locations page, and call the institution for current visiting information before finalizing your trip.

The CDCR has adopted amendments to §§ 3170 – 3179 (Visiting), of Title 15 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR), implementing visiting regulations effective May 1, 2003. The CCR visiting section can be accessed on the Internet at www.cdcr.ca.gov.

The intent of CDCR’s Visiting Program is to develop and maintain healthy family and community relationships. Included in the following pages are visiting guidelines, expectations, practices and noted changes contained in the visiting regulation amendments that all visitors should know. We hope that you find the information helpful.

Visiting in CDCR's institutions and facilities must be conducted in as accommodating a manner as possible in keeping with the need to maintain order, the safety of persons, the security of the institution/facility, and the requirements of prison activities and operations. Failure to comply with the established regulations and policies my result in warning, termination, suspension, or revocation of visiting privileges.
