Commissioner Reye Diaz

Reye Diaz, of Sacramento County, has been appointed to the Board of Parole Hearings by Governor Newson on August 31, 2026. Diaz has been Assistant Chief at the California Department of Justice since 2025. He was a Special Agent in Charge at the California Department of Justice from 2023 to 2025. Diaz was a Criminal Investigator for the County of Sacramento from 2021 to 2023. He held multiple positions at the California Department of Justice including Special Agent Supervisor from 2015 to 2021 and Special Agent from 1999 to 2015. Diaz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from California State University, Sacramento.
