Randall Cooke, a retired Correctional Warehouse Manager II, passed away July 31, 2023.
A veteran of the US Coast Guard, he began his career with the department as an office assistant at headquarters in Sacramento in January 1978. In April 1979, he promoted to Materials and Stores Supervisor at headquarters.
Randall transferred to Deuel Vocational Institute in June 1980, promoting to Materials and Stores Supervisor II.
Randall again transferred to San Quentin State Prison, promoting to Warehouse Manager I and II in 1983 and 1984.
He was part of the activation team for High Desert State Prison in February 1995. He remained at High Desert State Prison until retiring in 2006.
Randall returned to HDSP as a retired annuitant, filling the positions of Warehouse Manager II and Business Services Officer I Supervisor until 2007.
“Randall will be greatly missed by all who worked with him. Please keep the Cooke family in your thoughts and prayers,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
