Pelican Bay State Prison continues to have successful graduating classes for 7 Habits on the Inside.

The course aligns with CDCR’s focus on rehabilitation and reducing recidivism through personal development and behavior change.

The principles of the 7 Habits are also in line with the CDCR’s emphasis on reentry and reintegration. The habits include personal responsibility, goal setting, and effective communication. These classes equip individuals with skills to help them succeed upon release.

Additionally, by incorporating the 7 Habits into their programming, CDCR demonstrates a commitment to offering holistic and impactful educational opportunities for the incarcerated population.

“It’s inspiring to see initiatives like this making a positive impact on individuals who are seeking personal growth and rehabilitation,” said acting Warden Stephen Smith.

Acting Chief Deputy Warden Michael Betzinger said the course echoes the spirit of the California Model.

“The 7 Habits course can contribute to a rehabilitative culture, providing individuals with the tools to make positive, proactive choices,” said Betzinger.
