CDCR hosts two hiring workshops in Central Valley

The workshops will give participants the tools to apply for positions at nine institutions

BAKERSFIELD, CA — The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) will host two engaging hiring workshops to help participants apply for positions at nine correctional institutions in the Central Valley. The workshops will take place at Corcoran Technology Learning Center on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and at Four Points by Sheraton Bakersfield (Bistro Ballroom) on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

CDCR’s recruitment team will be on-hand to share information on current vacancies, salary and benefits, provide CalCareers account assistance as well as information on how to take an exam to get on an eligibility list for a position with the State of California. Participants will even have the opportunity to receive an on-the-spot assessment of qualifications and, in some cases, take an exam and participate in an interview that same day.

Vacant positions are in both custody and non-custody environments, and include those in food services, electrical, plumbing, case records management, education, grounds keeping, carpentry and more.

The Corcoran Workshop will cover positions at Central California Women’s Facility, California State Prison – Corcoran, California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility, Pleasant Valley State Prison and Valley State Prison.

The Bakersfield workshop will cover positions at California Correctional Institution, California Men’s Colony, Kern Valley State Prison and Wasco State Prison.
