The Honor Guard from three CDCR institutions dedicated the event to the memory of a slain police officer.

On July 24, CDCR honor guard team members from California State Prison, Solano; Duel Vocational Institution; and California Health Care Facility came together to present our nation’s colors at the Sacramento Republic soccer game at Papa Murphy’s field at Cal Expo.

The 18 team members braved the 102-degree heat in uniform to represent CDCR in front of thousands of fans.

“We dedicated our presentation to fallen Sacramento Police Officer Tara O’Sullivan. All the team members wore the blue wrist band we got when we attended her memorial service,” said team member J. Montano, Correctional Counselor II.
