California State Prison, Solano, reported the passing of retired Correctional Officer Richard McCulley on July 30, 2019.
Officer McCulley began his CDCR career as a cadet at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center in September 1990.
He reported to the California Medical Facility in October 1990.
Jeff Jennings
High Desert State Prison reported on July 22, 2019, the passing of Procurement and Services Officer II Jeff Jennings.
He began his CDCR career in September 1996 at the California Correctional Center as a Material and Stores Supervisor I.
In June 2000, he promoted to Prison Canteen Manager. He promoted in December 2005 to Prison Canteen Manager II.
He moved to High Desert State Prison in December 2005 when he promoted to Procurement and Services Officer II.
Rachel Zaragoza
Avenal State Prison reported the passing of retired Office Technician Rachel Zaragoza on Aug. 8.
She began her CDCR career at Pleasant Valley State Prison in November 2000.
She transferred to Avenal State Prison in November 2006. She retired in December 2015.
Duane Magorian
California State Prison, Sacramento, reported the passing on July 18, 2019 of retired Correctional Officer Duane Magorian.
He began his CDCR career at the Richard A. McGee Training Center in November 1994.
He reported to Mule Creek State Prison in December 1994. He transferred to California State Prison, Sacrament, in March 1995.
He retired in April 2019.
Thomas L. Hagan
San Quentin State Prison reported the passing of retired Fire Captain Thomas L. Hagan on June 29, 2019.
He began his CDCR career at San Quentin in July 1974 a Correctional Officer. He promoted to Fire Captain in December 1989.
He retired in December 2000.
Robert A. McMurphy
Centinela State Prison reported on July 5, 2019, the passing of Correctional Officer Robert A. McMurphy.
He began his CDCR career in March 2001 when he reported to Basic Correctional Officer Academy.

Richard J Donovan Correctional Facility reported on July 1, 2019, the passing of Psychiatric Technician Gary Zeyen.
He started his CDCR career in December 1992 at Atascadero State Hospital.
He began working at RJD in February 2007, where he remained until his passing.
Carl S. Newman
California State Prison, Corcoran, reported on July 29, 2019, the passing of Correctional Officer Carl S. Newman.
He began his CDCR career at the Richard A. McGee Training Center in March 2008.
He reported to California State Prison Corcoran from the training center.
Tamara Jackson
Pleasant Valley State Prison reported on July 25, 2019, the passing of retired Personnel Supervisor Tamara Jackson.
She began her CDCR career at Pleasant Valley State Prison in June 1998 as an Office Assistant in the Personnel Department.
She promoted to Personnel Specialist in September 2004 and to Senior Personnel Specialist in June 2009.
In September 2010, she promoted to Personnel Supervisor I. She retired in December 2012.
