Our Promise giving campaign kicks off Aug. 28 at Capitol

Join guests from public and nonprofit sectors on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., as we come together on the North Steps of the State Capitol to kick off the 2019 Our Promise Charitable Giving Campaign.

Learn about local nonprofits, hear from statewide elected officials on the importance of this campaign, enter to win prizes and enjoy music and interactive entertainment.

Our Promise represents thousands of nonprofit organizations and during this nonprofit fair-style event, you’ll have a chance to interact with many of them. Attending this event gives you the opportunity to learn about new nonprofits, explore causes you’re passionate about, and discover where your donations go.

The Our Promise campaign takes place annually from September to October.

CDCR kicks off own campaign Sept. 5

This year, CDCR will host its first Street Fair Kick-Off event to mark the beginning of the campaign for the Department. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, at CDCR Headquarters, 1515 St. in Sacramento.

CDCR will invite local nonprofits to set-up booths at the Street Fair in order to provide CDCR employees an overview of their mission, and how they are helping the community. Additionally, the Street Fair will include entertainment, food trucks, door prizes, special guests, and much more. Both events are free to attend.
