Coachella Valley Sexual Assault Services (or CVSAS) hosted a “Coffee with a Cop” community event at Starbucks in Blythe on Aug. 14. The event included staff from Ironwood State Prison, Blythe Police Department, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol.

CVSAS is the agency Ironwood prison contacts in a situation involving PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act).

They provided all agencies with sexual assault statistical information and several other brochures. This is one more example of Ironwood State Prison’s commitment to having a good relationship with the local community and law enforcement partners.
