On Aug. 20, Wasco State Prison- Reception Center’s (WSP-RC) Employee Liaison Committee (ELC) along with gracious donations from WSP-RC staff donated approximately $1,000 dollars’ worth of food, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, games, coloring books, cups and miscellaneous items to the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House (RMH).

These donations will go a long way in assisting families in need. Since opening in 2009, the Bakersfield RMH has provided comfort, care and support to children and families in Southern California. The hope for RMH is to create a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy by keeping families close to each other and the care they need.

The purpose of the ELC is to support employee activities at WSP-RC and to support the mission of CDCR as well as having a positive impact on the local community.
