
Jentry Luis, retired staff services analyst, passed away May 9, 2020. She started her CDCR career in May 2009 at Avenal State Prison as a limited term Office Technician.
She transferred to the California Correctional Health Care Services in September 2009.
She promoted to Staff Services Analyst in January 2014 and separated from state service in August 2017.
According to her family, Luis was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in late 2014, but bravely fought for six years.
“She loved anything to do with crafts, sewing, and baking. Jentry was a true country girl at heart,” according to her family. “She enjoyed living in the country surrounded by her farm animals, her garden, flowers, and succulents. She was a creative artist and had a vision for beautiful things. She especially loved photography and socializing with family and friends. Jentry loved life.”
Luis is survived by her husband and daughter, both of Hanford, two brothers, and her parents.
