Governor Newsom proclaims Parole Supervision Week

Parole Supervision Week Governor Newsom proclamation.
A proclamation signed by Governor Gavin Newsom.

Governor Gavin Newsom signed a proclamation recognizing July 19-25 as Parole Supervision Week.

“We recognize the integral role of our state parole professionals in the justice system, working in partnership with state, local and community organizations to supervise adult offenders in the community and improve public safety,” the proclamation states.

“State parole professionals are trained to assist previously incarcerated individuals with evidence-based rehabilitative treatment and services. These dedicated men and women advocate community and restorative justice, promoting prevention, intervention and advocacy. They also provide critical services, support, and protection for victims.

“I encourage all Californians to join me in recognizing state parole professionals as a force for positive change in the lives of those they supervise and in communities across the Golden State.”
