CSP‑Corcoran raises $5k for charity groups

California State Prison, Corcoran, recently hosted its second charity golf tournament at Lemoore Municipal Golf Course. Organizers said all safety protocols were followed.

The institution raised almost $5,000 which will be donated to organizations supporting the children of fallen firefighters, local area and employee youth scholarships, and suicide prevention outreach. A donation will also be made to support Operation Gobble, which buys turkeys for local needy families during Thanksgiving.

Lt. Sal Pina organized this year’s event. He and volunteer Mariah O’Neal said staff enjoyed the day, raising funds for charity while improving overall morale for the participants.
