A summer food sale at California City Correctional Facility (CAC) raised nearly $8,000 for local charities.

With help from a local pizza restaurant, inmates were able to preorder food, which was then delivered by CAC Administrators and staff. Proceeds from the inmate food sale were then donated to Special Olympics Southern California and the California City Little League.

Special Olympics received $4,008 while California City Little League received $3,900.

CAC Community Resource Manager Rebecca Dennis organized the event and delivered the donation checks.
