Avenal State Prison (ASP) staff raised $1,000 for the Special Olympics of Northern California. The money came from selling almost 300 burritos to staff.

This event marks the first in a series of fundraisers the institution will be doing leading up the Polar Plunge in April.

Participants observed social distancing and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.

“The staff at ASP always step up to support their fellow staff, community and important organizations like the Special Olympics,” said organizers.
