James Leksan, retired correctional counselor, passes away

James Leksan

James Leksan, a retired correctional counselor I, passed away December 26, 2021.

He began his career as a correctional officer in October 1980, reporting to California Correctional Institution (CCI). In 1988, he promoted to sergeant and in 1990 promoted to correctional counselor I.

He retired in 2002.

“CCI extends our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to James’ family and friends,” states a memo issued by the institution. “He will be greatly missed.”

Services were held by the family in January 2022 in Arroyo Grande.
