The Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) Recruitment Team, along with two K-9 officers, participated in Regional Safety Day hosted by Elk Grove Police Department. The annual event, also hosted by Cosumnes Fire Department, highlights public safety agencies as well as Fish and Wildlife and utilities.

Over 3,000 people turned up for the June 4 event at Elk Grove Park. Mule Creek staffed a CDCR informational Recruitment booth with recruiters Lieutenant Johnson and Correctional Officers R. Dawson and M. Lira.

Live K-9 demonstrations were provided throughout the day by K-9 Correctional Officers K. Jacquinot and T. Albrecht. They showed eager on-lookers the exceptional work CDCR K-9s do on a daily basis in the areas of narcotics and cell phone detection.

The event was a success in educating the public on CDCR’s efforts toward public safety and active recruitment efforts for Correctional Officers.
