The Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison at Corcoran (SATF) recently hosted a special concert for those housed on Facility G. The May 12 event featured 2nd Chance, an eight-member band comprising incarcerated musicians. They’ve been practicing twice each week for over five years.

The Recreation and Education Department at SATF hosted the Facility G concert, entertaining peers and staff.

SATF Media Specialist R. Hensley attended, recording their performance.

Warden Theresa Cisneros also attended. She said she agrees music is a therapeutic, positive activity assisting the rehabilitation process.

Through music, Cisneros said many are learning a new skill and discovering their talents.
