After 13 weeks of intensive training, 185 cadets graduated the CDCR Basic Correctional Officer Academy on October 7, sharing this milestone with loved ones. The 185 cadets, graduated as new officers, look forward to beginning their careers as public stewards, committed to the CDCR mission.

The academy instills CDCR’s values such as service, leadership, integrity, accountability, respect, trust and collaboration in cadets.

The CDCR correctional officer academy prepares cadets for situations they may experience as correctional peace officers. The all-inclusive training includes physical fitness, arrest and control, communication and de-escalation techniques, and more.

CDCR continues to hire Correctional Officers for positions statewide. Interested applicants can apply online at JoinCDCR.com.
