Retired Correctional Officer Robert Hertz passed away October 10, 2022.
He began his CDCR career in March 2007. After graduating the academy, he reported for duty to the Sierra Conservation Center (SCC).
He worked in various posts while assigned at SCC. His last post assignment was Front Door Main Medical on First Watch. Hertz retired in March 2018 and moved to Ireland.
“He was a great person and for those that had the pleasure of working with him, there was never a dull moment. Robert loved to read just about anything while drinking his yellow Rockstar energy drinks. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We extend our most sincere condolences to the Hertz family, loved ones and friends,” according to a statement issued by SCC.
He is survived by his wife and daughter.
