Trunk‑or‑Treat resurrected at SAC, Folsom

Halloween Trunk-or-Treat event with kids and families walking along classic cars at Folsom Prison.
The community joined CDCR staff and their families for a special Trunk-or-Treat event near Folsom State Prison and CSP-Sacramento.

Families, staff and the community gathered for a frightfully good time at a Trunk-or-Treat pre-Halloween bash at CSP-Sacramento (SAC) and Folsom State Prison (FSP).

The third Trunk-or-Treat Halloween event returned to the institutions on October 22 for the first time since the pandemic.

During the event, classic cars adorned with Halloween decor lined Folsom Prison Road and treats were passed out to kids in attendance.

Over 400 classic car enthusiasts, costumed kids, CDCR staff and other community members joined in the fun.

Two local car clubs, Cool Car Get Together and Mean Machine Car Club, were in full force to show off their vehicles and fill Halloween buckets with goodies.

A group of of Folsom and SAC employees barbecued a feast, providing some non-sweet sustenance for event goers.

FSP Warden Tracy Johnson was happy to bring the event back to Folsom.

“Trunk-or-Treat provides a fantastic opportunity for SAC and FSP to collaborate in bringing the community together for some fun. Efforts like this are made possible by donations of time and resources by staff and the community. I can’t thank them enough for making Halloween memorable for so many. We all can’t wait for next year,” Warden Johnson said.
