Correctional Officer Marcus Drake passed away unexpectedly November 13, 2022. He worked for CDCR for a little over 15 years.
Drake began at CDCR in July 2007 when he attended the Basic Correctional Officer Academy. After graduating, he reported to California Medical Facility in October 2007.
He transferred to California Men’s Colony in June 2017, where he remained until his passing.
“Marcus will be missed and his family remains in our thoughts and prayers,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
Services are as follows:
Viewing: Nov. 27, 4 to 7 p.m., Marshall Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel, 1239 Longbranch Ave., Grover Beach
Funeral: Nov. 28, 11 a.m., New Life Church Pismo Beach, 990 James Way, in Pismo Beach. This will be followed by a procession to the cemetery for burial and honor guard services.
Celebration of Life: Nov. 28 following the burial and honor guard services at Portuguese Hall of Arroyo Grande, 707 Huasna Road, in Arroyo Grande.
