Officer Daniel Chrystaline passes away

Correctional Officer Daniel Chrystaline passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

Officer Chrystaline started his career with the department on November 8, 2001, at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center.

After graduation, he reported to San Quentin State Prison in June 2002. He then transferred to Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in August 2010.

He was only gone about six months, then transferred back to San Quentin State Prison, where he remained until his untimely death.

“He was best known for his positive and cheerful attitude. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time,” according to a statement issued by San Quentin State Prison.
