In early December, Correctional Training Center staff teamed up with Cosumnes Fire and other local agencies to participate in Heroes and Helpers Shop with a Cop.

Over 50 foster children were paired with law enforcement and firefighters to purchase items for the holidays.

This event improves community relations by connecting children with law enforcement and other community heroes.

“It was truly a privilege to work with the youth from our community. Especially during this time of year,” said Sgt. Z. Barraza. “To be able to put a smile on their face was really a gift in itself.”

Organizers thanked everyone who volunteered to participate, making the holidays a little more special for the children in foster care.
