Edward Buffaloe, retired sergeant, passes away

Edward Buffaloe, retired correctional sergeant, passed away Dec. 3, 2022. He began his correctional career after graduating the Academy. Buffaloe worked at San Quentin, parole division, CSP-Corcoran and Avenal State Prison, where he remained until retiring in March 2000 following a nearly 22-year career. He was also a 20-year veteran of the National Guard.

“Please keep the family and friend of Edward in your thoughts during this difficult time,” according to a statement issued by Avenal State Prison.

He is survived by his wife, son and two daughters.

The family chose not to hold a public service.
