Jeffrey Kellerman, retired AW, passes away

Retired Associate Warden Jeffrey Kellerman passed away Dec. 30, 2022.

Kellerman began his career with the department in November 1993 at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center. In December 1993, he reported to Centinela State Prison as a Correctional Officer.

He promoted to Correctional Counselor in April 1997. In September 2001, he promoted to Correctional Counselor II at Calipatria State Prison (CAL).

He promoted to Correctional Captain in October 2007 and promoted again to Associate Warden in March 2015.

Kellerman retired from CAL in August 2020.

“Calipatria State Prison has lost an outstanding member of its family. We extend our most sincere condolences to the Kellerman family. Please continue to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time,” according to a statement issued by CAL.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, Jan. 23, at the Frye Chapel & Mortuary, 799 S. Brawley Ave. in Brawley. Burial will be private.
