Correctional Officer James Carrillo passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023. He worked for CDCR for over 22 years.
He began his CDCR career in September 1999 at the Basic Correctional Officer Academy in Galt. After graduating, he was assigned to California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo.
In May 2000, he transferred to Wasco State Prison-Reception Center (WSP-RC) where he remained until his untimely passing.
“Officer Carrillo will be dearly missed by all those who knew and worked with him over the last 22 years at WSP-RC. Please keep the Carrillo family in your thoughts during this very difficult time,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
