300 walk in Relay for Life at Pelican Bay

Pelican Bay State Prison's incarcerated residents raised over $1,200 for the American Cancer Society.

Thanks to Pelican Bay State Prison incarcerated residents, over $1,200 was raised during a recent Relay for Life event.

A check for $1,286 was presented to the American Cancer Society on Jan. 13.

During the event, roughly 300 Facility D residents walked around the recreation track while the facility band performed. They donated what they could for the event.

Organizers thanked staff and volunteers for making sure the event was successful.
