Rocky Bess, a retired correctional officer, passed away March 20, 2023. He began his correctional career as an officer in September 1981 at California Correctional Institution (CCI).
He remained at the institution until retiring in December 2006.
“CCI sends their thoughts and prayers to Rocky’s family, friends and coworkers he met along his career,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., April 7, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern County Road, Bakersfield. A reception will follow at the Stockdale Moose Lodge.
