Correctional Sergeant Jon Thompson passed away April 18, 2023.
Thompson began his CDCR career as a cadet at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center in October 2007.
After graduation from the Basic Correctional Officer Academy in February 2008, he reported to San Quentin State Prison.
In April 2014, he promoted to correctional sergeant at San Quentin, where he remained until his passing.
“He was best known for his positive and cheerful attitude. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
