CDCR was notified May 18, 2023, of the passing of Donald Wiley, a retired vocational instructor.
He began his CDCR career in April 1990 as a lead groundskeeper at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison.
In May 1992, he became prison canteen manager II. In June 1994, he was promoted to Vocational Instructor of Landscape Gardening at Ironwood State Prison.
He returned to Chuckawalla Valley State Prison (CVSP) in November 1995, where he remained until he retired in March 2010.
“Our sincerest condolences to Don’s family, loved ones, and friends,” according to a statement issued by CVSP.
