Between the Lines, Bill Glass events help CIW rehabilitation

Over two days, California Institution for Women (CIW) received rehabilitation help from two outside organizations.

Between the Lines, a non-profit organization, brought basketball to CIW on May 19. The organization’s unique approach to prison reform aims to prevent recidivism, boost spirits, inspire growth and assist in the rehabilitative process. Special guests included Danny Green, NBA Cleveland Cavaliers, retired; and Essence Carson, free agent, former WNBA LA Sparks champion.

The following day, a Bill Glass Behind the Walls event brought messages of hope to CIW. The faith-based organization is known for its high-energy Day of Champions and Weekend of Champions events held inside prisons across the country.

Staff and the population participated in the day’s activities including food, drinks, basketball tricks, a motorcycle show and religious discussions.
