North Kern State Prison (NKSP) and Adventist Health leaders reaffirmed their partnership during a tour and roundtable discussion.

The roundtable is meant to maintain and strengthen the relationship between the prison and Adventist Health.

“Adventist Health is a valued community partner,” said Warden Kevin Hixon. “It is a dual responsibility for both our custody staff and our healthcare providers to maintain open lines of communication and continue in our efforts to provide top-of-the-line healthcare services to those who are incarcerated.”

Hixon went on to say, “NKSP was pleased to meet with the administration of Adventist Health. We provided them with a tour to see firsthand how incarcerated patients are screened and, if needed, referred to Adventist Health.”

Adventist Health is a faith-based, nonprofit, integrated health system serving more than 80 communities. The organization provides care in hospitals, clinics, home care agencies, hospice agencies and joint-venture retirement centers.
