Garret Houston, a correctional officer at California City Correctional Facility, passed away Sept. 22, 2023.
Houston started with correctional career at the RA McGee Correctional Training Center in October 2005.
After graduating the Correctional Officer Academy, Houston reported to Kern Valley State Prison. In November 2006, he transferred to Chuckawalla Valley State Prison.
Then, in March 2014, he transferred to California City Correctional Facility where he remained until his untimely passing.
“Garret will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to work with him,” according to a statement issued by the institution. “Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
