Kathleen “Katy” Magill, a retired plumber II from Pelican Bay State Prison (PBSP), passed away Oct. 12, 2023.
Magill began her career with the department as an assistant clerk at Deuel Vocational Institution (DVI) in August 1985. She promoted to plumber apprentice at California Medical Facility (CMF) in January 1988.
She then promoted to plumber at CMF in March 1990. Magill then promoted to Plumber II in March 1992 at Pelican Bay State Prison (PBSP). She remained at PBSP until retiring in November 2020.
“Katy will be remembered for her professionalism, hard work ethics, and dedication to her family. Our deepest condolences are extended to her family and friends during this difficult time. The family will not be having funeral services,” according to a statement by the institution.
