Meet Parole Agent Vivian Miramontes

CDCR Parole Agent Vivian Miramontes shares a day in the life of her job, including complex tasks and responsibilities.

In this video, we also meet some of the individuals under parole supervision she visits on a regular basis.

With the Division of Adult Parole Operations, Miramontes’ insights and firsthand experience provide a deeper understanding of the challenging yet rewarding nature of a parole agent’s work.

“Parole agents are human, just like everybody else,” Miramontes said. “I want to try to assist people, not take them back to prison.”

One person currently on parole supervision said it’s a blessing in disguise.

“You guys keep me on my toes,” he said.

Another person on parole supervision said their job is to help with the transition from prison to the community.

“Your parole agent helps you re-transition back into society in a comfortable way,” he said.
