Jody De Souza, a retired correctional officer, passed away Nov. 27, 2023. She began her career with the department as a medical technical assistant in March 1993 at California Medical Facility.
In May 2007, she was became a correctional officer at California Medical Facility, where she remained until retiring in July 2018.
“She was highly respected by her peers and a well-loved member of the California Medical Facility family. Our deepest condolences are extended to Jody’s family and friends as they mourn the loss of their loved one,” according to a statement issued by the institution. “Jody will be greatly missed.”
A virtual memorial service was held for De Souza prior to CDCR being notified. No further services are planned.
