CDCR, Cal Fire, and San Joaquin Delta College hosted a Public Safety Career Fair at Delta College in Stockton. Fox 40 Live broadcast the event in the northern region.

Recruitment teams representing CDCR at the event included:

  • Peace Officer Recruitment
  • Specialized Recruitment Unit
  • Division of Adult Parole Operations
  • and California Correctional Health Care Services.

“The Public Safety Career Fair provided a valuable opportunity for students to learn about the different career pathways available in public safety and provided over 80 public service agencies a space to network with one another,” said Professor David Terry, Professor of Correctional Science at San Joaquin Delta College and event co-host.

Public safety agencies across California attended the event to represent their units.

Attendees had the opportunity to see specialized gear and vehicles used by public safety officers. They spoke with a recruiter about the job, pay, and promotional opportunities that await them. The event was open to the public. Everyone was encouraged to bring a classmate or friend to learn more about a rewarding career in public safety.
