Ronald Dowdell, retired correctional supervising cook, passed away Nov. 27, 2023. He began his career with the department as a correctional supervising cook at California Institution for Men in June 1990.
He remained in this position until he retired in December 2019.
“Ronald will be remembered for his professionalism, hard work, ethics, and kindness. Our deepest condolences are extended to his family and friends during this difficult time,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
