California Medical Facility (CMF) Fire Department hosted its annual pizza feed to thank the institutional firefighters. CMF administration and fire department staff thanked the incarcerated firefighters for their commitment and dedication. They often assist in the community during emergency situations. This act of appreciation was in conjunction with the Vacaville Fire Protection District and retired members from the CMF Fire Department.
The Pizza Feed, formerly the Fire Bean Feed, started in the mid-1970s to thank the members of the CMF Fire Department. The institutional fire department has always assisted in the community during emergencies. This event has become a well-embraced tradition that has continued over the years. The institution recognizes the commitment these individuals have made to the fire service and community. They all have shown their hard work, training, and passion to help others in their time of need.
“I am constantly impressed by the firefighters here and the dedication they have shown not only to CMF and CSP-Solano, but to the community we serve around us. It is an honor to be a member of this agency and this fire department,” said Fire Chief Smith.
