Cindy Cortez, a retired correctional officer, passed away Jan. 14, 2024.
Her career with the department began in January 1988.
She retired from California State Prison, Corcoran, in October 2012 after a quarter century of service to CDCR.
“Our deepest condolences are extended to the Cortez family as they mourn the loss of their loved one,” according to a statement issued by the prison.
