The California Institution for Women in Chino welcomed New Wine Church volunteers who facilitated a celebration for Co-Dependents Anonymous participants, graduates and future participants.

The group is facilitated by incarcerated people, helps the population define co-dependency characteristics while teaching them to:
- build boundaries
- build self-esteem
- identify unhealthy emotional dependency and caretaking
- techniques to control behaviors
- and address the people-pleasing behaviors of a codependent person.
Twelve volunteers from Fullerton-based New Wine Church arrived at the institution with a large donation of food to feed 60 participants.
“We are here to serve. We want to bless everyone today,” said Chaplain Yvette Estrada.
The attendees were served a meal as they sat and enjoyed chips and salsa. In addition, the church’s worship team played live music.
Volunteers gave their testimonies, spreading love and hope for the future. The day was full of appreciation, laughter, tears and hope for a brighter future, according to organizers.
